What’s under my Christmas tree this year? The one-of-a-kind Jagua Kit from Earth Henna! I’ve always loved the look of henna tattoos, but let’s be honest, I’m drawn to black way more than brown. That’s why I chose Earth Henna’s Jagua Kit over their Henna Kit, because of the black, long-lasting pigment. The jagua itself comes from South America and is said to be healthy (and safe) for all skin types, even the most sensitive. Jagua “is an edible, orange-size, tropical fruit with a thick rind found in the Amazon,” according to Earth Henna’s site. No artificial colors or smells!
The Jagua Kit comes with simple instructions, but I recommend using gloves during the process (which I did not…oops!) because the jagua paste is highly pigmented and stays on the skin for a long time. It’s a super fun way to give yourself a tattoo without the commitment. I used the jagua ink right above a real tattoo so you can compare the two looks, and they’re really not that different. I’ll admit my hand was pretty shaky the entire time so the design isn’t perfect, but the included stencils are really easy to use! Just rub eucalyptus oil (included in the kit) on your skin, cut out your design of choice, and press it on until an outline shows up. If the outline is too light, apply more eucalyptus oil. And there you go! It’s done!
